Message from Ghent is a corporate movie directed by Hans Vercauter, and produced by Ief Stuyvaert and An Larssen (Conception).
Ghent, in my opinion, is not only the most beautiful city in Belgium, but also has a very large and active harbor.
The music for this project is filled with sounds and instruments, most of which I created especially for Hans who has a remarkably developed musical sense.
I was looking for a specific sound towards the end of the film, so as soon as the sun sets you basically hear one single Sculpture instrument. even that "wauwish" sound in the end that comes just before the voice, is part of the same instrument.
It's also the first time I was asked to do the foley work. It was exciting.
As director it was a pleasure to work with Ben. Ben has strong vision on how music feels. Nevertheless, he always stood open to suggestions, and was always ready to improve his work. Thanks Ben!
